Entry requirements for the Bachelor of Arts in Economics(BAEC):
- Candidates must be holding at least three O'level credit passes in approved subjects,oe of wich must be English language, must have at least two good(D and above) principle level passes in appropriate subjects at A'level education and must have a grade point average of not less than 4.5 where A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1, S=0.5, F=0.
Applicants with less than A'level qualification such as those from Kenya 8-4-4 education system or those using 12 years of pre-university education must undertake the University's Foundation or Pre-entry programe and pass the set examinations;
OR
- Candidates should hold a certificate at credit level or Diploma at a minimum of second class level all obtained from Tanzania Commission for Universities(TCU) or NACTE recognized and/or accredited institutions.
Applicants with a Certificate of less than credit level or diplomas of less than second class level must show a proof that they have had at least two years of work experience in the relevant field of study needed and must in addition, sit and pass the university's entry examinations;
OR
- Candidates of mature age (25 yaars) who passes the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(C.S.E.E. Ordinary Level) with at least three credits in approve subjects,may apply.If they attended A-level classes,it must have been at least five years before admission is sought. They have attended and passed tests set in extra mural classes,residential courses or courses offered by an Adult Education Centre.
