Entry requirements for the Bachelor of Arts in Sociology(BASO):
- Candidates must be holders of Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(A.C.S.E.E.) with principal level passes in appropriate subjects at the same sitting with a minimum of 4.5 points. A candidate must have at least five(5) credit passes in the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(C.S.E.E. Ordinary Level)including English .Two principal level passes, both of at least 'C'grade if not at the same sitting.The points are based on the following scale: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1, S=0.5, F=0;
OR
- Candidates must hold a relevant Advanced Diploma of at least second-class standing from an institution recognised by the Tanzania Commission for Universities(TCU);
OR
- Candidates of mature age (25 yaars) who passes the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(C.S.E.E. Ordinary Level) with at least five passses and three credits in approve subjects,which should include English;
OR
- Candidates from countries with an 8-4-4 system of education must have completed succcessfully at least one year of university study in their countries of origin or must have undertaken a one-year certificate programme offered by any institution recognized by TCU.
